When a small group of believers gathered one hundred years ago among the palmettos at the Pleasant Grove Camp Ground near Tampa, Florida, little did they know they would have significant roles in beginning two ministries that would eventually reach around the world. The Pentecostal spark that started in the Florida heat and humidity burns brighter than ever today. Celebrating the birth of Church of God Camp Meeting and Church of God World mission the three Florida offices (Tampa, Cocoa, and SE Hispanic) did something that had never been done before. Led by a Centennial Commission representing all three offices, they recently all came together on August 27 and 28, 2009 to remember the past, reflect on the present, and strategize for the future.

The 100th Camp Meeting was recently celebrated in Florida. The meeting was filled with memorable experiences from beginning to end. Few will forget the Sunday night Missions service where 85 year-old Ray H. Hughes literally preached through the Bible and delivered a powerful message on Jesus.
