World Missions Centennial Continues
Day two of the World Missions Centennial began with a compilation of historical songs from the red back hymnal. In the morning service Tim Oldfield, pastor of Potter's House and World Missions Board member, brought the Word. He shared the importance of sharing the Word with the world. "My worry is that the Word of the Lord will be lost within the church. The Word of the King is powerful," says Oldfield.
After the service, attendees went to different breakout sessions. Victor Pagan, assistant director, hosted the Administration. Bobby Collins, pastor of World Outreach Worship Center and World Missions Board member worked with the pastors, and R. Terrell Brinson, field representative and supervisor of Missions Mobilization, worked with the laity.
Raymond Culpepper, general overseer, brought the Word from I Corinthians 16:8,9. He shared about how God has set an open door for you and when He opens the door no one can shut it. He talked about the first missionary Paul. Paul was captivated by the possibilities of an open door. He would turn street corners to preaching centers. "Open doors are divine opportunities. Open doors are always framed by devilish opportunities," says Culpepper. "God has his timing set so far in advance. Time is the essence.
